Connect your Google Sheet file with Gmail

Imagine you are a company that has a registration system. People subscribe for a service and you don't know how to keep them aware. They fulfill a typeform, where they put their personnal data (email, phone, adress, ...) that is automatically linked to a Google Sheet file.

The problem are the following :

  1. It is long to send an email everytime someone has registered.
  2. On weekends, you don't work, so how do you keep your customers that you have received their personnal data?

Discover Zapier ! What is Zapier ? It is a free application that connects other applications and makes your workflow easier. To be very short and precise, it is an automatic application with whom you will save a big amount of time !

Discover the Zap connexion between Google Sheet and Gmail

  1. Go the website Zapier
  2. Click on "Make a Zap"
  3. For the trigger, type and choose "Google Sheet". The trigger means the origin of the data that the Zap needs to extract.
  4. For Trigger Event, choose "New spreadsheet row". That means that when a new row is created on your Google Sheet file, there will be an interraction.
  5. Then choose the Google account you want to edit and use with the Zap. Then choose the spreadsheet you want to target with the Zap and for "Trigger Column", choose "any_column".
  6. The step "Find data" is automatic.

    7. Then you have to choose the Action.

  7. Choose the Gmail application and the Action Event is "Send Email".
  8. Choose the Google Account you want to use to send the email.
  9. Then you have to custom the email you want to send. You may need to use the html language to code a little bit your email, to make it fine and beautiful. The prettier your mail is, the happier the customer will be, because he will think that he has received a personnalized email ! ;)
  10. Click on "Done editing" and activate your Zap by clicking on "On", on the top-right button on your screen.
